Daeriel knew that fate could be cruel. After all, she was orphaned and left the sole survivor of the attack on her kingdom, doomed to carry the scars and nightmares of her youth for the rest of her immortal life. 

And yet, fate also left her with a powerful family heirloom and a chance to avenge her people, a chance she so desperately sought after.

"How dare you speak to me in such a manor dwarf!" I said rage in my voice as the council erupted into a storm of arguments. "Never trust an Elf!" Gimli said towards me as I reach for my arrow but a hand grabs my wrist and I feel warm breath on my ear "I wouldn't" Legolas' voice says against my skin as I look at him our faces inches apart. "Fine" I say through gritted teeth as Legolas lets go of my hand softly and stands by my side.
