Three aging men, far past their prime, living stubborn, quiet lives in the quiet town of Emond's Field. While all had families and lived relatively happy lives, none accomplished anything particularly spectacular, and now age weighs heavily on them all. But all of that changes one night when a mysterious woman and her guardian visit the sleepy town, in search of Ta'veren, individuals with incredible power and influence. 

In the course of a night, the destiny of these aging men will change. Upon the weight of one of them, an incomprehensible responsibility will soon lie. 

Robert Jordan once said that he intended for the protagonist of The Wheel of Time to be an aging man who, relatively late in his life, realizes he is the chosen one. This story attempts to recreate what may have been in this very different timeline.All Rights Reserved
