Luna Peterson lives an ordinary life in London, teaching ordinary high school students in an ordinary school. At least, until half the staff quits or leaves without a trace, and Luna begins to have more questions then answers.
Upon meeting a strange man called the Doctor, she's swept into outer space with him and his friends, whisked off from adventure after adventure.
But something sinister follows her.
She faces memory loss and terrible nightmares - only to realize they're not nightmares at all - and keeps hearing a mysterious knocking she can't find the source of.
Through jealous friends, falling for a man she hardly knows, and time-traveling to different galaxies and planets, Luna tries to navigate it all.
But one question haunts her: who is she really?
