Easton King has had a hard life. His parents abandoned him as a toddler and he's been from home to home for as long as he can remember. Nobody seems to want him, they just keep him for a little and eventually they all throw him away to be somebody else's problem. Because of this, he has never been close to anyone. He's learned from a young age that he can't trust anybody to stick with him. Don't get me wrong, he still has friends. In fact, Easton is one of the most popular boys in school. No one knows about his home life because he never talks about it and never hangs out with people outside of school.
Derek Danvers (his friends jokingly call him DeeDee) has had a better life. He lives with his family and they are loving and decently forgiving like most parents are. He has suffered from depression and anxiety but not nearly as severely as Easton. He lives his life one day at a time and he doesn't depend on his friends but he trusts that they'll stay by his side, and if they don't then it's for the best. They didn't deserve him.
Everyone in the school knows Easton puts up walls. No one gets within two or three feet of him, no one asks about his home life, and no one asks if they can go to his house or if he can go to theirs. He has rules everyone knows. What happens when someone finally tries to push the rules? To build up the trust one once lost? Read to find out

Wyatt Kelly never had an easy life, at least in his opinion his life was never easy. Wyatt is 16 years old and lives on the streets, sleeps in alley way and manages to find odd jobs around time to pay for the very occasional new shirt or pair of pants from the second hand shop and his meager dinners every night. Now, you might be wondering why in the hell a 16 year old boy is living on the streets instead of living at home with a loving family for at least another two years? The answer is simple yet sad; his family which consisted of his mum, dad, an older brother and a younger sister all died in a house fire late one night while he was staying the night at a friend's house. Yes, he was taken into a foster home but he ran as far away from that home as he could after being beaten every day for a month because his foster father couldn't handle a 'fag' living in his home but he wouldn't send Wyatt back to the foster care system because he liked the money he received every month for keeping him. When he left he managed to leave the state he had lived in his entire 16 years, he escaped to two states from his own before settling where he was; San Diego California and he was originally from Salem, Oregon. He wasn't thrilled of being so far away from his families graves but he couldn't stand being in the foster home for however he would remain there. Wyatt plans on returning home when he turns 18 years old, only two more years before he can return and visit his family when he feels the need or would like to.

Sex, drugs and the death-dealing pressure to make money night after night - It's a steep, downward spiral which 19-year-old Elijah Everdeen has found himself stuck in ever since his parents died. If it weren't for his two siblings, he would have given up years ago. For a long time, he wanted to, thought about it every day even. Sometimes - in the cruelest, darkest of nights - he still does. But if this black-and-white world has really become Elijah's grim reality, then why is this young, mysterious man capable of adding color and a heartbeat to this dreadfully achromatic still life Eli is trapped in? Growing up in chaos isn't simple for all. Not many could cope. They would struggle and kick, but ultimately drown. However, for Dakota, that was his normality. Torturing. Maiming. Killing. That was his life, the life of a hunter. The Arizona line was elusive, written fame in the lore of hunters, and infamy for their prey. They were the best. No one could ever compare to their skills, their abilities, their ruthlessness. But Dakota was something else. His siblings might have learnt to enjoy the hunt, well most of them anyway, but Dakota didn't. There was always something missing for him, something he was waiting on. Silent and everlasting hope. A promise had been made to him, the day his twin brother was stolen, taken by the enemy, plucked right from the very home the Arizonas had grown up in. A promise of something better, something that he might actually want in his life. Now, almost sixteen years later, something was coming. A change was begging to be found. Maybe it would be for the best. Maybe Dakota would finally find that certain something that had been missing his whole life, something to fill the dark and fractured abyss that ached and wailed within. But nothing was ever that simple. Because, of course, the promise that had been made to Dakota would never be anything plausible for him, anything tangible to have and to hold. He had been promised a new life, by the greatest enemy of them all. It wouldn't be easy. Not with his family still clinging to his heels, the teachings of blood and violence burnt into his mind. No, leaving them behind wouldn't ever be easy. Then again, staying with them would only bring his inevitable death. Why not take the chance to die happy? After all, out of the ashes, a phoenix will rise...

"If I could pick anyone in the entire world, in the entire world, Will, I'd still choose you." *** William Nile has always felt a lack of control in his life. His head's clustered and the past likes to eat at his thoughts. Isolation is a synonym for safety and staying neutral is a key ingredient for survival. He's always felt more put together when he was a mess; always felt like the world was clearer in the dark. He can't help it, this is just how it's always been. Then comes along a new foster family who throws him for a loop. They're exactly who they say they are, exactly who they act to be. With that comes a goofy boy named Clement and his best friends, annoying twins who laugh loudly- -good luck telling Jude and Demi apart- -and a girl named Minnie who has a god complex. Will knew from the day he arrived that he needs to focus on acting the way his foster moms want, on getting good grades, at playing soccer well and making sure that for once, he doesn't mess up. He knows he doesn't want to lose these friends, knows he wants to feel wanted and needed and understood. Because here, there is more focus on his mental health than there is on if he's acting the 'right' way. Here, there is room for growth and change past a foster parent's ideal child. Here, there's no room for entertaining the idea of him with a pretty boy who has a witty smile and a loud laugh. On that last note, he has no idea what to do (and Will is someone who likes to plan ahead). *** A coming of age story.
