First, she wakes up in the body of a Meowth out of all things. What's worse? She can't remember anything. She meets a confined Chespin running from forces who sees his life as forfeit. The sky is cracking. Pokémon are going berserk, and evil sorcerers are using them as puppets. In an effort to fight back, they join the Retaliation Corps for answers...but the world is cruel.

Two members of the Outcasts Guild - a meowstic called Cleo and her small dedenne companion Spark - stumble upon an odd discovery. Something that sparks a little hope amongst the Outcasts. The hope that one day, the Darkness just might be defeated and pokemon can live in peace once more. However, this discovery sets two assassins - an androgynous zorua named Harlequin and a joker of a banette named Enigma - after Cleo and her friends. What unfolds next is a roller-coaster of events that throw our heroes right into the epic battle between good and evil. (Nominated for Serebii's Fanfiction Awards 2015 for 'best character development' (tied for second place) and 'best new writer' (first place). After this success Giovanni declared the Viridian Empire and began a military build up to take over the rest of the world.
