"It was Midsummer's Eve, and the moon above was full and bright, bathing both stone and grass in silver light. As I looked about, I wondered why I came." (From, A Midsummer Mischief)

A collection of thirteen short stories and chapters of flash fiction, inspired by magic and witchcraft, the paranormal and metaphysical. Some are light, some are dark. Some contain an element of fantasy whilst others are perhaps a little more grounded in the real world.

Tarot, familiars, magic and spells, the fae, paganism...they are all mentioned within...

I hope you enjoy reading these short magical tales!

Shelland Conall has always believed herself to be ordinary, and she's never had reason to suspect otherwise. Not until an enigmatic stranger seems to show up at every corner, and he's claiming to be the one that saved her life. Thing is, Shelland doesn't remember her life ever endangered. But Beck, this charming boy with eyes like ice, is relentless and comes bearing an unthinkable truth: that someone close to her has been poisoning her. It's not just any type of poison either, but a magic suppressant disguised as an everyday pill, and it's crafted to keep something buried inside of her. Struggling to read between the lies, Shelland must act fast on who to trust, but how can she trust anyone when she can't even trust her own memories? And the more she learns about Beck's supernatural life, the farther she will fall into his bloody world of magic that she never knew existed. But what happens when a broken girl tastes her first dose of darkness? The Perennial Chaos Series: Umbra, Vol. I Highest Ranking: #9 in Werewolf, July 2015 *This version is the complete first draft.
