Aurora isn't your average mermaid. She isn't even that... she's more. Last of a dying race, the Ocean Serpents, her purpose in life is to help make things easier on people. But she's a little rusty due to lack of service because of a traumatizing experience. And to add to that, she's on limited time; if she can't change three people's lives in an earthshaking way, she'd have to go back to the Serpents Clan, and Poseidon knows she couldn't afford that.
Merrick is your average surfer. Loved the sea, good looks, and a hot girlfriend. But that all changes when a certain mystery girl comes traipsing into his life. As a college graduate with a rich daddy, he's just relaxing, letting loose on life. Nothing matters to him but surfing, nothing else... but what if that mystery girl expands his vision?
Time running out.
Fear tearing at the seams, trying to break in.
And two extraordinary people.
Love?
Possibly.
But the question is, do you really believe in me?

He walks forward, pressing the blade into his throat. His skin is taunt against the serrated edge, and blood beads around it until it drips down his neck in a crimson trail. My eyes widened, wanting it. He is looking at me with those dangerous, glinting green eyes, daring me. "Kill me, then. If you feel nothing, you can kill me. Then you can leave. The choice is up to you. It always has been," He whispers. His words leave me as cold as the blade at his throat. My heart is subjected to this stabbing pain, like I'd turned the knife on myself, and I would rather it be like that. "But if you don't," he whispers," you are mine and all mine. We will rule the dawn of a new age, we will complete our bond, and you will forget about her. Make your choice." I can hear my heart beat in my ears, and I swallow agaisnt the rush. These are my options. Kill him, or agree to be his. I make my own choice. I can not take my freedom away. I can not be the mate he wants, but I can not kill him. With a deep breath, I turn the knife on myself. Aurora, a girl with only one name and abandoned at birth in a war torn land, finds herself lost in a sea of witches, drowning in everything she can never have. Or so she thinks, the night a divine interference rips her from her home leads to a butterfly effect of deadly, chaotic spirals. Something dwells in the unknown shadows of Aurora's soul, something lurking just behind the screen of consciousness, something passed down through the generations as greater beings try to avoid the annihilation of our world. Is she just another part of the fall out, another victim to an unending tragedy between two cosmic beings? There's only one thing that can help her, and it stands before her in the form of a green eyed werewolf mercilessly killing the witches she's grown up loving. She thinks he can protect her, but what will she do when he needs protection...from her? #12 in destruction #11 in strife

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?

He turned around and stared at me. "Then do it." He crossed his arms. I jumped into the water and felt the transformation happen. I rose to the surface to find him staring at me. He smiled at me and began to laugh. Read my story to find out what happens next.!
