Jack has been depressed for quite a few years. The reason? The pressure from his parents to be the perfect son.

Alex is new to school and catches Jack's eye, and he immediately tries to become friends with Alex. Jack finds himself faking happiness and acting like everything is fine in order to make Alex want to hang out with him more. It works, and soon enough, Alex and Jack are best friends, and they might even fall in love along the way.

But, when Jack is slowly getting worse and worse mentally, it's only a matter of time before Alex discovers the real Jack Barakat...
