Imagine a place where the constellations of stars above your head are different from those you have ever seen, where the night sky can glow with strange swirling lights, and where the cold of winter comes when summer arrives elsewhere. Imagine a land of volcanoes, jagged white-topped mountains, rivers of ice, deep forests of ancient trees, and dark caves where carnivorous grubs glow like stars to lure in their prey. This is a land torn apart by earthquakes, and surrounded by waters filled with giant sea creatures: its people once fierce warriors who worshipped mysterious spirits. This is not some fictional place- this is New Zealand.

With a tent and a backpack, Colin Skinner set off to explore the magical geography, wildlife and people that make the islands of New Zealand such a unique place. Isolated from other land masses for around 85 million years, the land is a 'Jurassic Ark', where animals and plants from the time of the dinosaurs have somehow survived. Ancient tree ferns, plants that produce spores rather than seeds, and primitive relatives of pine trees still grow in the forests. Among the unusual creatures that still live in New Zealand are flightless ground-dwelling birds, and ancient reptiles that have hardly evolved in the last 100 million years.

With this fantastic land as a back drop, Colin Skinner went off the beaten track to find the people and stories that have been shaped by what is around them. Travelling alone, and on foot, he stayed with Maori people and conservation workers, who are striving to protect the amazing land that is New Zealand. Walking through the heart of an active volcano, suffering near exposure on the windswept and rainy Desert Road, and debilitating food poisoning before crossing the Haast Pass to reach journey's end... all are part of the story.

19 parts Complete
Ever since Baz was a child, he heard stories of the miraculous Simon Snow and his incredible adventures in Neverland. For Baz, stories of Simon are more than just stories--they are true. The tales become his way to escape his harsh reality and his old-fashioned family. So, when his sister is old enough to understand, he tells her about Simon Snow and his battles with The Insidious Humdrum and how he and his fairy help-mate, Penelope, save Neverland on a daily basis. What Baz doesn't know is that there's always someone lurking outside his window when he tells these stories. Ever since Simon was born, he knew that the real world wasn't the place for him. His mother died during childbirth and his father, in turn, became an abusive drunk. So, when Simon was seventeen, he escaped to Neverland where he would never have to grow up and be like his father. Now that he's been there for so long (he lost track of the years overtime) he starts to wander back into the real world to see how things have changed. One night he hears, through an open window, a silky voice telling stories of Simon Snow the Great Adventurer. The boy that didn't want to grow up. So Simon hovers outside the window night after night, just to hear what the boy has to say. One night, Simon finds himself going in through the window to try and find his shadow and meets the mysterious story-teller. Who, as he finds out, is not just mysterious--he is incredibly attractive.

The tall, Polynesian beauty's eyes were shockingly pure white while the other team members waited for her divine intel. Her name was Prophet for obvious reasons. Her beautiful tribal tattoo crawled up from her right arm to her neck. It shined in gold brilliance while she manifested her otherworldly power. "This U.S. waiting and anticipating type of shit is why I transferred out to New Zealand Ops," muttered 1st Team Gunner Diablo. He was telepathically pulling a football from the rec room table as it effortlessly smacked into his hand. The football immediately disappeared into a vortex after Diablo threw it in. Jojo looked at Diablo quizzically. "What? My son starts football next week and he needed one, it beats going to Walmart." Prophet's eyes returned to her normal shade of brown. "So what's the 411?" inquired Jojo. "The Hispanic who goes by the name Priest was the lone witness. I couldn't first-person view the whole incident cause the fucking anufe low-level demigod was too inebriated and stoned out of his mind to provide any reliable intel. Saint revealed his divine form but thankfully Priest was incapacitated. He also reported Saint left on his own accord," reported Prophet. She refused to believe her cousin Saint would've betrayed his teammates. "That's bullshit, Saint's loyal to a fault," stated Dice and Deuce simultaneously. "I hate when you guys do that, it's creepy as fuck," muttered Diablo. "Wasn't what your wife said when we was pulling a two-fer on her last night," responded the twins humorously. The team chuckled quietly. All of the teammates hailed from the South Pacific, but not all of them were of the same realm. Deuce and Dice, Prophet, and JoJo were from the Tiafau Realm where Saint and Sinner's Tagaloa bloodline ruled. Diablo was a Hawaiian god from the Koa Realm, and Specs was a Maori god from the Kaha Realm. But they all belonged to the same genealogy of purebloods. © 2020 Jeannie Mane. All rights reserved.

The ice deep in the north has melted to reveal a new world hidden under the ice. It holds vegetation and animals that seem unworldly when compared to ours, but hidden in the deepest part of this world is another cave with the oldest surviving strains of an ancient bacteria capable of taking host of dead creatures and reanimating them into beasts worse than before. This strain had grown weak over the ages and was nearly extinct, but the human immune system, never being exposed to this, caused the strain to thrive inside its new unexpecting host and spreads out to the world. It starts small, just a speck on the hands of a few people, but soon, it spreads to door handles, pens, books, chairs, things like that. It continues spreading and now has infected its first corpse, the remains of an ant. This new creature comes and spreads to that ant's nest and then to the animals that eat them. Before less than a month passed, the virus had spread to a graveyard in the hidden grottos of the Yukon. This virus, now able to think from the new minds of fresh bodies, can strategize. In only another week, the epidemic had spread to the northern edge of the United States. Spreading further and further in, people began to notice this strange happening. From people disappearing to entire towns popping out of existence, the bacteria continued to spread. To keep order, the governments had those who disappeared erased from existence, but it wasn't enough. The takeover of those long gone happened in less than three weeks and society collapsed. Spreading overseas, it began its removal of life in Europe, but that's a story for another day. We now come to those few remaining settlements in the collapsed U.S, now called The Crumbled Land. What does this new land hold hidden deep in the remnants of its former glory?

After a crimson meteor streaked across the sky, human civilization came to a standstill. From that day on, no one could build a rocket, a nuclear bomb, an airplane, or even a car... The towering pyramid of modern science collapsed in an instant-but the catastrophe did not end there. A gray world descended with the crimson meteor, like a ghostly reflection in a shattered mirror, slowly dragging civilization into the abyss of chaos. In this era, human life is as insignificant as dust; in this era, humanity shines like the stars. As the great edifice of civilization crumbles, someone sees a lone performer standing amidst the ruins. His crimson cloak flows like blood, his laughter and tears interwoven. Behind him, the curtain of a new era slowly rises. He spreads his arms wide and whispers to the countless souls before him- "Let the show... begin."
