When the darkspawn return after four hundred years, King Cailan enlists the aid of the Grey Wardens to beat back the Blight before it begins. But when betrayal strikes at Ostagar, it is up to the last two surviving Wardens; Adrian Amell, a raw recruit from the Circle of Magi, and Alistair, a former templar, to defeat the Blight on their own. Can Adrian and Alistair raise an army, end a civil war and defeat the darkspawn before it's too late?
