It's the summer of 1985, in Hawkins Indiana, school's out, and there's a newly opened Starcourt Mall that has become the center of attention in town, causing other stores to close their businesses due to its popularity. Nancy has a new summer job being an intern for The Hawkins Post while Y/N is stuck being at Scoops Ahoy since his parents want him to become more independent on his own.
But when Nancy comes to the door asking for his help on a new lead for a story, he's all too eager to help her solve it.
