Wang Shu was a young boy who witnessed the traumatic death of his mother at the hands of a imperial guard, and he later grows up as a woman to conceal his identity. But his reputation attracts nearly every man in China and he's soon forcefully taken to be a maid in the emperor Kang Xi's palace. And with his beauty, naturally the emperor takes a liking to him, not knowing he is a man. The emperor soon wants Wang Shu as a consort but his current empress Zhao Ren is known for being sinister and cruel so she becomes mad with jealously. Trying to stop them from being together any way she can.

Will Wang Shu find love within the palace, or will there be someone else that enters his heart?
