Both came from areas where the kids weren't alright. Where they grew up taught them to fight for survival because being caught in the certain places at the wrong time could have meant exactly that. Both made themselves something and nothing, and still, their desires were so completely polar opposite from one another.
    
   He pulled himself out of that wasteland hidden in Seattle,Washington where he learned how to skateboard faster than his heart would when running away from trouble. She ran away from that hell hole East End, Ohio was, holding onto  the one thing that hadn't fallen apart in her home -- her brother.
