Each human has a soulmate- the one they promise their lives to. It is all calculated by a simple string, which connects to your soulmate. However, humans have evolved over time, as most species do. The present-day method of telling if you found your soulmate is all compacted into a simple mark on your wrist. As expected, not all humans are the same. 95% of the world are Binded- meaning they have a soulmate. The other 5% is Severed- they still have a soulmate, but they can't tell. It's complicated, but one thing is for sure, it is NOT easy to be Severed. Sabrina Eisenhower deals with it everyday, being pitied for having a "cut" string. One thing is to be known- the Severed HATE being pitied. But underneath the tough surface lies a broken heart- one filled with so much pain. But there is only much pain as to one can handle. Is it possible to really move on, especially after moving to a small town in the middle of nowhere?

In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. The main characters of this story, Violet West (18) and Harper Black (20), both have a flame tattoo on their cheek. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away. For 2 years Violet also paniced but she knew that some people don't find their sm for 5-10 years after they come of age, so she wasn't as scared as Harper. One day though, they feel their tattoos start to tingle. ____________________________________ *Will they be happy with who their soulmate turns out to be? *Will they recognize each other? *Will they be happy? *Will they break apart? -Read to find out. :) ____________________________________ This book is rated mature because there is a lot of talk of depression and self harm. In this world there are two names on everyone's wrist; the person's enemy and their soulmate. Each person has no distinction between the two of the names, for that is something they must find out for themselves. But once they find their soulmate, the names disappear, so they will no longer have the name of their enemies marked upon them and they can live in eternal happiness. But sometimes, the names can get confused. After all, who says you can't meet your enemy first? [NOTE: We wrote this like two years ago I promise we've improved don't judge] (This was written with @im-gay-so-yay).
