It's known to many the heroic acts Link has performed, even in past lives. The legendary warrior's silence is known the same. Most have thought nothing of it, but the Princess Zelda has recently been concerned, and she worries there may be more behind his silence than introverted speechlessness.
_______
This is a fanfiction on The Legend of Zelda that explains why Link doesn't speak much. I don't know how long it will be, but it won't be nearly as long as a real book. I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I tried to draw it in a sort of comic form, but then I remembered I'm terrible at drawing hands, hair (especially Link's), feet, and body shape, so I thought I could write it on here. I do still hope the book reaches Zelda fans, but I also hope it will be read by people who've never heard of it. I like writing and sharing it with people, and I'm going to be especially proud of this one. I've tagged the Zelda games I've played if you're interested.

Blighted Memories by Bard13

Amnesia was a funny thing. It strips you of all memories, both good and bad. But what it didn't take away from Link was his caring heart. He wasn't a man who had time to deal with or worry about things like memories anyway. All he cared about was doing what was right. But just because Link had no memories, or any interest to reclaim them, didn't mean they wouldn't return to haunt him. Ever since Link woke up, strange things have been happening around the land. Horrific creatures, not quite monster and not quite human, begin appearing at night to terrorize the denizens of Hyrule. Link, not one to simply let such evils do as they please, decides to investigate into the matter as he travels across the land to find a way to destroy these creatures. It should've been just another job for him, just a problem the people needed solved, just another errand for the incarnation of Hylia's hero. But as he investigates, he is haunted by his past. Link's mind cannot remember what happened. But his heart did. He still feels what he lost, what he failed to protect, even after one hundred years. That's what draws something toward Link, the very same evil that created the creatures he faces. It follows and watches him from the shadows, taunting him, waiting for him to remember the past he's forgotten, waiting for the pain to resurface, waiting for the time he can no longer carry the weight of it all. As he journeys on his quest to defeat Ganon and save Princess Zelda, Link must learn to contend with another ancient evil that taints the land, all while facing the ghosts of his forgotten past. But how long can a disgraced hero last in the face of his failures? Cover art designed by @DaybreakVision on Twitter. Some themes may be upsetting to some readers. Viewer discretion advised. I Love You, Always Forever; A Medieval Zelink Story AU by Link-knight-177
20 parts Complete
Zelink AU Medieval Fanfiction Zelda, currently Princess of Hyrule wishes to see the world outside of the castle. Her father expects her to marry one of the chosen suitors to prepare Hyrule's next King, but she doesn't like the sight of any of them. Link is a Hylian knight with a tragic past. Being secretive and closed off is how he prefers to live. He has a quest he believes he must do alone-to find his older sister. But Hyrule is subject to an unknown danger, within itself. How will the mystery unfold and how will Zelda and Link achieve their dreams? I don't think I'm super great at medieval writing...(knowing the time period, vocabulary, descriptions, etc...) but I tried anyways! Sorry for the unappetizing description. But I think I write stories better than I write summaries I promise haha... ~Clean and appropriate for most ages~ There will be some minor blood and other descriptions that may be disturbing for young people. I'd say 12+? Cover art does not belong to me, I don't know who it belongs to. If it's yours and you want it taken down, let me know and I'll do that. No swearing in comments or anything inappropriate please. That being said I would love some constructive criticisms because I want to become a better writer. All rights belong to Nintendo. The rights of the plot go to me, and please don't post anything I write anywhere else. Highest rating #10 Zelink 4/13/20 COMPLETED** DECEMBER 30, 2023

Who We Are; Zelink, Modern (The Legend Of Zelda)

44 parts Complete

((read whole description to know what you're getting into xD)) There is a secret hiding in the nation of Hyrule. For centuries this land has been a democracy, but few actually know just what is going on behind the scenes. What use are the old tales when no one even believes in magic anymore? Zelda is a girl who lives her life trapped within the walls of her family's mansion. She only leaves to go to school, and there she meets someone who will quite literally change her life forever. ((Please don't swear in my comment section. If you do, I'll delete it. Hate speech, swearing, and inappropriate comments will all be deleted.)) WARNING; This story has only been partially edited and I cringe to high heaven reading it. I don't mind you enjoying it, so I'll leave it up but don't judge my writing by this book. If you can't stand it, like me, please head on over to Raising the Stakes, which I have put much more time and effort into and is a million times better. The Legend of Zelda is (c) to Nintendo.
