Diya Mehra is the only daughter of neurologist Ashish Mehra and cardiologist Naina Mehra. Diya has no cousins, no aunts and no uncles because her parents are co incidentally also single child of their respective parents. Diya stays with her maternal grandparents when her parents are struck at work since her paternal grandparents died when she was an infant.Ashish Mehra also owns a private hospital in Delhi.

Born in a family of doctors Diya is destined to become doctor. Ashish and Naina wants Diya to become a doctor just like them.
