*SEQUEL TO THE POST SUNDAY EXPERIMENT*

Days after graduating her senior year of high school, Aubrey Nadir finds herself lost and looking at the only place she's ever had. The sky. When her mother died eleven years ago, the child seemed to lose her heart. She did not know how to move on, so she did all she could to keep up her one, childish promise to her mom. The promise was this, that she would 'take her mom to the stars.'

So here, eleven years later, Aubrey continues to watch the midnight diamonds above. Doing all she can, Aubrey dreams of being accepted into a certain NASA internship program in her gap year before college. This will allow the penniless girl from Washington, DC to have a chance at something bigger in life than the polluted sidewalks and flashing streetlights of her city.

Holding onto hope after school ends, Aubrey comes across something odd in the pattern of the sky. A black circle that blends into the sky covers a select few stars. Sharing her observations and theories with her blog, a member of an organization called "The PSE" notices her unique theory that changes the way we look at our universe.

Later accepted by this internship Aubrey believes to be with NASA, she soon finds it is not what she expected. She is not studying the sky but instead needed to work with the PSE, the military, the US government, and select NASA employees to understand this circle that has the potential to cause unexpected, devastating effects.

••• Oh yeah, I think I forgot to mention, some of us humans are "gifted" as we like to say, in short, we have powers, well most of us do, anyway, powers that only show themselves when we turn 18. That's why an eighteenth birthday is such a big deal. Please note, that our powers come in all shapes and sizes. From elemental magic, to mind control, mind reading, time traveling, and even shapeshifting, and many, many, more. Even though some humans don't get powers, it's still better than getting what is known as The Soulmate Gift. What is it? You may be asking yourself. Well... It's when you can see what your soulmate sees and when you can talk to them mind to mind. Why is this such a bad thing? It only appears when one of the pair is in danger or is about to marry or spend their lives with someone other than their soulmate. So yeah, heartbreak is definitely present in the equation. And yes, you've guessed it, I, Amelie Diamandis, have the Soulmate Gift. And the fire gift. Which should be impossible. Isn't that just great? Oh, and my soulmate wants nothing to do with me....I think? ••• For as long as humans could remember you either got one gift or nothing, it's impossible to have two or more. A human with more than one power has been unheard of. Until today. When two people, destined since birth, break history with powers destined for destruction and a destiny that none can fathom. ____ THIS IS A FIRST DRAFT #167 in magic out of 270K 2021-12-05 #6 in high fantasy 2021-12-06 #21 in meant to be 2020-07-10 #43 in epic fantasy 2020-07-10 #31 in gift 2020-07-10 #31 in mate bond 2020-05-06 #58 in loneliness out of 12K 2021-12-02 ____ This story contains mature subject matter such as violence, reader's discretion is advised. ___ I couldn't find the artist that made the girl on the cover, if you know who it is please send me a message so I can credit them :)

The 100, Seasons 1-5 Completed: December 2024 ~~~~~~~~ IN MY HUMBLE OPINION - THE BOOK IS GREAT. TV SERIES IS GREAT. READ AND BINGE BOTH S'IL VOUS PLAÎT. THAT MEANS PLEASE :) it's a bit long but all good things are. More adventure. This is a dystopian story that keeps on going 💪 OKAY LOVIES. If you're familiar with The 100 then this story follows the first 5 seasons of the TV series... because tbh in my opinion it went on for a bit long and then I didn't even get around to watching the last season BUT LIVE LAUGH LOVE THIS MUCH OF IT. The storyline is a constant thrill - new problems and plot lines infiltrating the characters. All the characters are from the show aside from the ones that are obviously not in the show 🤠 BUT IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE SHOW THEN JUST ENJOY. But seriously whenever I get Bellamy reels on insta I retreat to this book, thankful to have written something that fuels my delus

"As far back as I can remember, I've been surrounded by water. The salt in the air even now makes it hard to breath, forcing me to squint. Sand clings to every inch of me, caking my pants and shoes. The wind from the ocean picks my hair up, sending it blowing back towards the multi-colored houses lining the shore line. *** 'Quinn, don't panic,' Lexi says through gritted teeth. She holds fistfuls of my shirt now, and I hear the rubber soles of her shoes squeaking. 'Too late,' I whine, grabbing the barbed wire in a last desperate effort to regain some balance. The razor sharp blades cut into my palms, making me jump again. Lexi sucks in air and loses her grip on me. I hold my breath and close my eyes, feeling the wind cradle me from all sides as I fall at about twenty-four miles per hour, considering the height of the wall and my weight. Now, I wish I was surrounded by water." South of Compound 4, another compound exists. Within the wall of Compound 5, children are trained and tested for perfection through the Intelligence Exam, a test that every student takes during their sixteenth year. Pass, and you stay within the compound. Fail, and you are sent to another compound. It's common knowledge that they are building a perfect population to remain when the rest of the world falls to the Virus. Yet, what happens when Quinn faces the threat of Compound 5, a short blonde girl whose name he can't pronounce, and begins to question everything he's ever been taught, pushing the limits of the system and his own comfort zone? When a student receives the compound's first ever perfect IE score, a storm makes its way in from the ocean. Can Q unravel the secrets held within the walls, or will he lead his family and friends to a war they can't win against a woman who seems to be triumphing against all odds? However, she soon begins to question the commonality of all the locked doors and vague answers from the shady staff. What she finds makes her question why she was picked as an intern, and she is faced with a choice that threatens to uproot everything she knows about science, humanity, and even love. ▪️▪️▪️ I flattened my palm on the cold glass and held my breath. My heart raced as I watched him tentatively lifting his hand to reach mine. Then I saw it. A flash of white in corner of my vision. Turning my focus away from the man, I focused on the white shape behind him. Craning my neck, I tried to inspect it further but my confusion only grew when I recognized it to be a patch of white feathers. Wait...feathers? He must have noticed my gaze because his lips quirked up into a proud smile and suddenly the patch of white grew into an entire wing. No, not just one, two wings...and they were attached to his back. -Rankings- #1 in Creature 3/03/2021 ❤️ #1 in Beast 1/27/2023 ❤️ #1 in Subject 8/27/2022 ❤️ #1 in Dystopia 3/25/2020 ❤️ #1 in Laboratory 4/27/2021 ❤️ #1 in Science-Fantasy 4/21/2023 ❤️ #2 Young Adult 4/18/2023 #2 Strong-Female-Character 12/20/2021 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED [NEW COVER 4/3/2021] [COMPLETED 4/9/2022] *WATTPAD EXCLUSIVE STORY*
Scorpio by Turtles5188
16 parts Complete
A desert-town math whiz meets an ambidextrous artist, a Scorpio... in the wake of a best friend's death, two white envelopes that freak people out, and a diamond pearl that might be LSD. In the outskirts of Las Vegas, freshman Aurora (a.k.a. Ari) takes refuge in calculus and probability problems to escape the demons of her painful past. Math was what the prestigious prep school Staglight Academy had recruited her for-her, a girl from the wrong side of the train tracks. Plus, numbers are logical; math makes sense. This predictable world built on immutable mathematical theorems doesn't plague you with chronic insomnia, doesn't let Katrina-your best friend-die, and definitely doesn't hurl a tornado through the middle of the Mohave. But a desert cyclone is exactly how their twin escapes begin-Ari, running from the horrors that have chased her throughout time, and Xanexa, running from the horrors that have chased xyr across the universe. They run until they meet, when Ari comes face-to-face with xyr, an amazing artist whose sketches are so real they could come to life. From that initial encounter, she begins to discover the dangerous, life-threatening truths that had been buried with Katrina. Under an increasingly constricting web of manipulation and deceit that imperil Ari and those around her, those truths resurface with the ones about herself that had been buried beneath the sands of time-truths that are wholly irrational, just like art-- --and pi, a number xe shows her the end to, even though it is real, irrational, natural, and never-ending.

"We don't have a Caretaker. We have a Creationeer. And we love her." ~Humanity. We think we're from here, but are we really? What happened to us before then, and who was involved? Kit - a young B-Tier Creationeer - didn't want this job. She's not trained to be an Intelligent Species Caretaker, and yet she's forced to care for the last remnants of a damaged and traumatized humanity by an old, malicious evil. After carrying us around in a modified to-go habitat bubble for 18K years, Kit wants a vacation, but is hesitant to leave us alone on our new planet she built; Earth. She confides in Pan - an A-Tier Caretaker and Kit's best friend and roommate. She reveals the full story of how she came to be in possession of us and why she can't hand us over to a licensed Caretaker. Pan reveals the tragic truth of the first 10 years of our existence before Kit found us. The new knowledge Ignites a fire in both. So the two young Ethereals come up with another plan that involves the three grad school roommates, Pan, Sid, and Kit, taking us on a long road trip to the Andromeda galaxy for some good old fashioned revenge- justice. And also Screw Jim. (warning: Contains strong language.) Please comment and vote. :) I'd really appreciate it. ^_^ (This idea was born from the second I saw a photo of Earth from orbit showing the glow of our atmosphere and thought, "Haha! We live on a bubble planet." :) ) NOTE: They're not gods. This is not theology. They don't have all the answers, they're not all powerful, and they can't do everything. They're closest equivalent in a fandom would be like lesser cousins to the Q. In this AU, Humanity knows about Kit. They don't deify her. To them, Kit's presence is normal, tangible, and real. She's always been there.
