A light blonde haired man with brown highlights sighed as he rubbed at his temples. "What do I do..?"
"H-Hide..?" a soft voice whispered from behind him, a weight slumping against his back.
Rolling his eyes fondly, the man- Hide, chortled and turned around with a smile. "Woah," he exclaimed, "speak of the devil!"
"Hide!"
"Sorry, sorry, 'Neki!" Hide laughed as he felt a face nuzzle into his shoulder and hands clutch at his arm. "What's up?" He asked turning around. "Oh 'Neki..." Face softening, the man smiled genuinely. Behind him, in all her glory stood his lovely and heavily pregnant wife that he loves so. Hide watches gleefully as the woman's cheeks flushed and her grip on his arm tightened. "Well?" He hummed.
Kaneki's flushed a brighter red as she stammered, "I-I'm hungry.."
The two just looked at the horizon with no one interrupting the silence.
And I got used to this silence.
And I began liking the serenity that she provided.
Touka turned to look at the lady who was taller than her. She grabbed on her sleeve and lowered her head.
But I'm still afraid that when I stripped off her cover, I'd unravel something I'm not prepared to see. I wonder that beneath her covering would be a mirror that would show how much of a monster I have become.
"Yoriko told me that you've been down lately", Rikina opened. "We were desperately asking him to stay but he decided to disappear after all", Touka suddenly said what was in her chest all this time. "I knew it. You were having a lover's quarrel. I believe his name was Kaneki-san?", the white-haired lady recalled. For someone like Touka who knows there are things they might not keep for a long time, she should long be used to losing those she held dearly. But unlike the silence, it was something she could never get used it.
Unraveled.
