I never liked the perception of heroes. You were ranked for how "good" you were, for how much of the spotlight you could take up. You were a hero if you went to school for it, if you passed a test, if people liked you enough. I rather prefered a more out-dated way of thinking; where anyone could be a hero. When an everyday person could move the heart of a stranger by simply being who they were.

When heroes were good. When people were good.

I became aware of the reality of this world of mine at a very young age, specificaly when my father knelt down and proudly told me that he was a Hero. A Pro. I wasn't a dumb child in the least, I knew a bad man when I saw one.

And he was a bad, bad man.
But he was a Hero. And he was my father.

And that was reality.
