In an alternate ending of the Hands of Time, Kai and Nya get thrust into the future after facing the Time Twins, where they must seek the help of the future Ninja of Ninjago as well as the future versions of their teammates to get home. They find that their future, and the fate of their loved ones, is not as hopeful as they had previously thought.
