嫌い 過去 ("Kirai Kako") is a 16-year old girl living on the unknown island 小島の隠し ("Kojima no Kakushi", "Islet of Concealment"), located some ways north of Osaka, Japan. She lives near the village of 神秘 村 ("Shinpin Mura"/"Shinpi Mura", "Mystery Village"), in a house that seemed abandoned for years. Kirai moved there after her parents mysteriously died one day. Along with her old friend Hinode Kurotsuki (日の出 黒月), Kirai began experiencing strange and bizarre things in the late summer of 1986. Eventually, the two girls began meddling in strange objects that gave them bizarre powers from another world, which may have been the source of something catastrophic nearly 70 years prior...
