If Frank was being honest, this summer had been one of his best yet. With his friends and boyfriend by his side, the bet finally out of the way, and a high-school diploma to his name -- he could pretty confidently say that he had all an eighteen-year-old boy could ask for. Unfortunately, he knows that all good things can't quite ever last, though, because August was ending quick -- and he knew that Gerard was set to head off to college any day now...
Honestly, Frank really still had no idea what he was meant to do in life. Gerard seemed to have it all figured out in college, or, so Frank thought, with tales of new friends and successes. Yet, the latter was still left behind in Belleville to rot -- hesitant to dive headfirst into the unfamiliar world of adulthood, and snagged on the thought of; if Gerard could find his purpose, then why couldn't he find his?
It was no secret, either, that distance was putting a strain between him and Gerard -- communication scarce, and the loneliness overwhelming the fragile pair. So, when Frank's offered a job down at his aunt and uncle's diner in Newark -- he accepts, ready to finally pull himself together, and to get his damn life started. The only lingering issue is: will distance bring Frank and Gerard closer together... or will it tear them -- or, rather, Gerard -- apart for good?
[Sequel to Frank Iero's Ultimate Survival Guide to Winning (and Losing) Bets. Please go read that first, if you haven't yet!]
Parents that act like their part of the fucking WBC... A flaming homosexual son... This is going to work out great.
(The story will be better than the intro, I swear!!)
Gerard's parents are religious, they value their beliefs above their sons. But Gerard doesn't believe in such things. Gerard was different than all the other people his age. He always had been. No one seemed to understand his strange ways, except for his brother, Mikey. Mikey was the only person Gerard gave a shit about, in fact, he truly loved his brother. Without his brother, Gerard would be alone. Oh yeah, did I mention Gerard was gay?
When Gerard's parents found out, days later, there was one less member in the Way household. The night he was disowned, started as any ordinary day, and ended in silence. Gerard was kicked out of the home, with nothing but the clothes he was wearing, and whatever was in his pockets. As he stepped out the door, he took one final look at his brother. Mikey's facial expression was somewhat emotionless, but his eyes flooded with tears. That final fucking glance, it would haunt them forever...
Gerard was homeless for weeks, until a short boy his age, caught him by surprise...
