Sheik's job was written out for him the moment he was born. Be the guide, be the shadow, but nothing more. He was content with those rules, Impa made sure he knew them all down to the very letter. But knowing it and actually doing it are two very conflicting things. What if he just helps a little bit more? What if he stays a little bit longer than the prophecy says he should? Surely the Hero will still succeed, surely everything will be fine.

Just a little longer.

Sheik turned slowly to look at him, amusement still dancing across his face as he nodded his head to the request. "I want you to know you are the only person that takes the definition of the word 'Guide' to the very last letter." What he wouldn't tell Link though was that it felt good to be relied on so heavily. He felt like he was actually needed, that he was making a difference.

Link's left hand reached out, taking hold of Sheik's and gently held it. "I'm the Hero of Time, right?" Sheik nodded, a bit confused on where this was going. "Then it's for me to decide how I need to be guided, not everyone around me. Not even the Goddesses. If they want me to save Hyrule, then I should be allowed to use as much help and resources as I can."

"Where did you come from?" Ilia asked and that's when everything stopped. Where did I come from? I tried to remember, I thought really hard but all I could say was, "I came from a place where no mortal should ever come from if they dare keep their head." The words tumbled from my mouth before I could stop them. I slapped a hand over my mouth, scared I would say more I didn't understand. Why would I say that? (Y/n) had awoke inside of a strange house, surrounded by strange kids. The only issue with that logic, she has no memory. Nothing to trigger why the young man Link and the group of children would be so kind to a stranger. It dawns on her that she needs to find out who she is again. However a darkness is brewing, and Link has a destiny to follow. The strings of fate tangle between the young duo, and (Y/n) makes a decision to help save Hyrule from the darkness. With nothing more than a brave face and an emerald pendant tying her back home, she sets out with Link. They also fall under the service of an imp itching for revenge. However, there is one person standing in the way of (Y/n) getting home. Her best friend, the Usurper King, Zant. He has made it his life goal to protect (Y/n) from himself and place a veil over her eyes to keep her from seeing his wrongs. Her wrath would for sure be the end of his evil plans. This is, the Twilight Veil. A reader insert. COMPLETED- 2018 (Y/n)- Your name (L/n)- Last name (S/c) -Skin color (E/c)- Eye color (H/c)- Hair color The plot for this story is made by me. He stopped in his tracks. Something was approaching. He pressed himself against the Kakariko cliffs nearest the graveside, not moving until long after the steps were gone. A holy light shone from within the graveyard, and a young woman laid sobbing in its stones. When his eyes met her, he could have sworn she'd taken his life for her littlest. ~~ He stood on the edge, glancing towards the castle his father had once been honored at. He looked just like him. He didn't think he'd ever be able to return to his birthplace. But that was fine. Mom probably can't either. ~~ It's been many years now. Everyone who was there is no longer here. It's impossible to move on, but there isn't even a fragment of the past left. She's been told never to head there, but she saddles her horse. ~~ The Calamity took thousands of lives, but it left behind thousands of others. A sister, a wife, a best friend, a son. They move away from each other, and some move from the places they were, all for closure and to remember without the pain. Over one hundred years does history fade to legend, but the faithful continue to tell the legends, not just of one hundred years ago, but of all the stories from it.
