When 17-year old Alina Winters, an ambitious and proud violinist looking for freedom in music, is offered a place in an all-boys boarding orchestra school, Alina accepts on a whim. Surrounded by men and boys she's never seen before, Alina goes on a journey to find herself. But she meets Rowan Lee, what hold she has over her life is shattered. She finds herself falling for this violinist able to keep up with her. But soon, with the start of the regional competition, only the elite can win. More importantly, only one person can win. Pressure to regain herself and earn the fame she deserves, Alina disappears into a dark world of bribery, grit, and where everyone is willing to kill to win the prize. With everything against them, will love persevere?

Also, just a short message from the author. I've written this in the way the main character sees the world. Not every musician plays to get to fame, and this is the journey Alina takes to get rid of that greed. This is a hard book to read, but I promise you it will be worth it in the end.

"I mean, I'd fight you for it, but I've got a violin concert tomorrow and I don't want to break any fingers."

Zara is moving from New Zealand to New Jersey to attend Princeton; the college she got accepted into. She decided to attend there not only for the amazing opportunity it held, but also to get away from her traumatic past, but what if that past decides to follow her? There she meets her neurotic roommate in a... compromising situation. Her roommate (Josephine 'Jo') invites her into her friend group where they also have a dance group together. There she meets all sorts of friends like the sweet Shane, the cold June among others. Oh, and lets not forget about the infuriating Cameron who is also in their friend group. He also seems to have a past and is often times hot and cold making it hard for Zara to understand where she stands with him. Most days, she hates him because, well, he's an asshole, but other days, he's not an asshole. Those days are the days that confuse Zara and complicate her already complicated life. What will happen when Zara's past starts to travel back to her? And what about a secret that Zara is hiding that no one else knows about? What will happen when Cameron finds out? Will it make him even more colder to her or will it make them closer? Read to find out! *** Warning: Could be triggering to some people. This is a dark romance about a young woman trying to hide from her demons. This book includes violence, profanity, sexual themes and a lot of depressing stuff that will soon lead to hope. :) Or will it? Read to find out!!
