It was a case of theft. A simple one, really, since the volume of materials stolen and the particular means of transportation should've made the traces clear as day. But young private detective Torun Kiriti soon learned with his partner Ashraful Mahmoud that the case might be very different from what they had initially thought. That the world might be very different from any of them had initially thought. Accompanied by Lanka, a boat woman of Jamuna who is skilled enough to maneuver through it's treacherous straits, and her only friend Mohona, they sail through the murky waters between reality and delirium, walk on the shifting islands on a braided vein of Bangladesh and delve into centuries old tales and traditions of a civilization under the currents.
