Yes, it is a time travel story, a BL romance, history and magic thrown in to make things more interesting. The ML grows on you, even the annoying puff of smoke becomes endearing. It is written as a journal, so the ML only knows what you know as he writes each chapter. Tim never foresaw where the events were leading him....so far from home, in place and time.
