Diana Miller is used to breaking the rules. At just eighteen, she's left sunny California behind and moved to New York City with her best friend Chloe and her dad, ready to start fresh and take on the world. But her rebellious streak follows her to her new school, where her sharp tongue and knack for trouble quickly earn her a reputation-and the attention of her strict and impossibly composed chemistry teacher, Ms. Collins. Ms. Collins runs her classroom like clockwork, and Diana's defiance is a disruption she won't tolerate. The two clash from the start, with Diana going out of her way to test her teacher's patience and Ms. Collins pushing back harder with every witty remark and late assignment. Diana's friends warn her to stop before she gets in too deep, but the tension between them is impossible to ignore. As the line between annoyance and fascination begins to blur, Diana finds herself questioning everything she thought she knew about herself and her feelings. But love isn't easy when it's forbidden, and Diana's penchant for trouble might just set fire to a spark neither of them can extinguish. In a world of rules and rebellion, can two opposites find a connection, or will their chemistry combust before it even begins?
