Izuku Midoriya is a good kid. A great kid, in fact. He's survived two villain attacks, fought multiple villains, and saved two young children. He's a naturally happy boy, but that doesn't necessarily mean life is cupcakes and rainbows.

With his mother in the hospital for attempted suicide, his father wanting nothing to do with him, and his grandmother not qualified to take care of a child, Izuku is thrust into foster care. Enter the Terekos. Nice enough people, for the first thirty minutes social care workers stick around.

Now struggling with school, his mother's attempt and sickness, and a not-so-friendly home life, Izuku's stuck, and its hard to keep up a smile. But is it really his fault an accident cost him his legs?

Izuku Midoriya is a good kid. A great kid, in fact. He's saved two little kids from big time villains, defeated Hero Killer Stain, and survived two villain attacks in only his first year at UA, the top hero school in the country. You wouldn't expect him to have three part-time jobs, an impossibly sick mother, and to live in a dingy gang infested neighborhood, working himself to the bone just for dinner. You wouldn't expect him to make money by doing street performances with a break dancing group, or winning bets with the many gangs in the neighborhood. You certainly wouldn't expect the hero-in-training to commit petty theft to provide for the four other poor families that live on his street. But it's all true. He lives in a poor neighborhood where no one has a decent job and there isn't a single hero, not even an underground one. The kids there have only been to the city once or twice, and none of them have parents. One girl does, and was left there willingly. They regularly have to fight off the vermin trying to take their food, and consider a single dollar a fortune. This is Izuku's home. and, if his teacher doesn't find out what's going on soon and save him, it may be his deathbed. I mean, is it really his fault a piece of the ceiling crashed onto his legs and completely shattered them? Disclaimer: I do not own Boku No Hero Academia. All characters belong to Kohei Horikoshi, I own nothing but the plot and mentioned OC'S. NOW COMPLETED. Started- 10/23/2020 Completed- 02/28/2021

Life's been cruel to Izuku Midoriya. After having to bury his wife and daughter, his only other child gets put into a quirk-induced coma that they can't wake her up from. He shuts down, ignoring the outside world, refusing to let anyone in. He's terrified of the consequences it could bring if other people entered his life. The only person he can't push away is Bakugo. No matter how hard he tries, Bakugo keeps coming back, just trying to make sure Midoriya stays alive. When Bakugo's had enough, he forces Midoriya out of his bed and tries to help him through the pain. Turns out, all he needed was a little bit of hope to bring back some of the light in his eyes. ⚠️Death of loved ones ⚠️Language ⚠️Alcohol use
