Catherine always had this longing for the outside world beyond the city. For her search in self-discovery, she learned about why she was what she was, what her past meant for her and the people she met along the way. Through the discovery of a village unknown to most by the help of her grandma, she met a rather mysterious immortal that held many secrets behind his piercing blue eyes, a lot good and bad as she unfolds his past. Them meeting changed the perception of many and brought out an awareness for a threat long dormant. The threat that could use his power to alter the balance in darkness and light and potentially destroy the world. The question is; in what world would light and darkness come together to fight against an evil beyond understanding? ------ Excerpt: "Darkness and light cannot exist without one another and neither one is innately bad or innately good." He said closing his book, looking at her with his icy blue eyes. Catherine chewed on his words, not really understanding what he meant. He continued, "Why don't you fear the sun? It can blind and burn you, but yet you find sunsets beautiful. Who taught you it was a good thing? What about darkness? With it comes peace and quiet. Why do you fear it? Is it because of darkness itself or what could hide in it? Yet, who taught you it was a bad thing? Also, why do you fear yourself?" Catherine visibly stiffened. His last question could mean anything, but the way he stared into her eyes said otherwise. He knew more and it scared her.
