The Sanlibutan Chronicles is my attempt to recreate a fantasy world based and inspired by Philippine History and Mythology. Inspired by the works of J.R.R Tolkien and video games like the Elder Scrolls Series, this is my mythopoeia of local Filipino culture, recreating a new world with its own creation story, historical eras, and lore.

This would be a novel like The Silmarillion where it starts with the story of the powerful deity Bathala and the appearance of the Devas and the Asura beings and the creation of the mortal realm, Sansinukob, and the planet Sanlibutan. The mortal races of Diwatas, Engkantos, Duwendes, Beastfolks, and Men, along with other animals and monsters would soon dominate the land. Others are descendants of the Devas (Diwatas, Engkantos, Men) while others are creations of the gods. After the creation story, the story would include several historical eras based on the lore history: The First, Second, Third, and Fourth Eras.

This is mostly lore and not a story since this is still a work in progress. More research is still needed especially on our local folklore and the folklore of the indigenous tribes like the Igorots and the Lumads. I have yet to create a map and setting for the story.

In the kingdom of Tubodlan, the balance between tradition and progress is precariously poised. The respected but conflicted ruler, Datu, faces mounting pressure from multiple fronts. His reign is threatened by Labaw Dunggon, a former ally turned rival, whose ambitions threaten to destabilize the kingdom. Meanwhile, Datu's daughter, Princess Inday Daling, champions a vision of modernization and reform that challenges the established order. As Labaw Dunggon incites unrest and rebellion, Datu struggles to maintain control while grappling with his daughter's reformist ideals. Their conflicting visions reflect the broader societal divide between traditional values and progressive change. The kingdom's fate shifts when Datu and his allies unearth remnants of a lost kingdom, offering invaluable historical knowledge and technological innovations. This discovery provides the tools necessary to address their current challenges and mobilize the kingdom for a decisive confrontation. The conflict culminates in a dramatic final battle where Datu's leadership and Inday Daling's pivotal role come to the forefront. Their combined efforts lead to Labaw Dunggon's defeat, allowing Datu to embrace the necessary reforms and reconcile with his daughter. Under this new leadership, Tubodlan enters a prosperous era characterized by unity and progress. Festivals celebrating knowledge and renewal become symbols of their growth, marking a successful integration of tradition and modernity. DALIGDIGAN concludes with the kingdom's transformation into a beacon of innovation and hope, reflecting the harmonious blend of past and future.

In the nation of Veruna, Deva is a druyd, a natural-born magic user living in a society where her gift is seen as a threat to the powers that be. As she passes aimlessly through life as a petty thief, she can no longer ignore the visions of beasts and destruction yet to come. After the Magistrate discovers her identity, Deva sets out to discover the meaning behind her visions and discover the history of her long-forgotten people. Across the ocean in Saboru, crowned prince Koji is fighting to escape his duty as a warrior, a title required by all male magic-wielders. While his twin sister Kyung begrudgingly accepts her role as a healer, Koji can't shake the feeling that he's meant for a different purpose. And the nightmares aren't helping his cause. Koji runs away in hopes of escaping his destiny, but ultimately runs into another. Worlds apart, the Gods have chosen two champions to free them from imprisonment. But can they save their nations before it's too late?
