"Listen to me, Do not expect anything from me or this marriage. I only married you because of my baba." His every word pierced through her soul.

He didn't wait for her reply, he wasn't expecting any reply from her, she never opens her mouth in front of him. Hayder stood up and was about to go to washroom to change.

"I married you because of my mother, otherwise you can never be my ideal choice" Hyra's words made him stop on his track.

Turning to her, he saw her standing beside the bed, looking at him with challenging eyes.

Her words irked him, going to her, he held her arm tightly in his hand. "Don't you dare to talk back to me otherwise I will cut your tongue." He warned her in a low, dangerous tone.

"Ouch!" A soft whimper left her mouth, she tried to free her arm from him. Her eyes brimmed with tears. He was holding her arm very tightly, it might leave bruise later.

He left her arm. "One more thing, whatever happened in this room should stay in this room. If you complain to anyone about anything, you will see the worst side of mine." Before leaving, he told her.

"You can not be anymore worst." Hyra mumbles to herself, wiping her tears.

Getting dressed I grabbed the hodni (scarf) as a mere source to cover my shame, he pulled me out of the room. With the pain all over my body especially the lower body, I wasn't able to walk; matching his speed was out of the question. I pleaded with him to stop, to have mercy on me but just like last night, my words were sent to deaf ears. Not able to match his pace, my steps were misplaced making me fall but it didn't stop him. He dragged me down the stairs in the same state injuring my entire body. I cried helplessly but none of his family members had even a hint of guilt. Everyone's eyes hold only one emotion for me which is disgust. Sitting on a knee he grabbed my hair in a painful grip and the words that came out of his mouth were something which I never expected. "The biggest mistake I've made in my life is, loving you." He said while tears flowed from his eyes. ••• Malika Adsule, a Clinical Researcher, is a quiet girl but for her close people, she is everything but quiet. "...Don't show that you cared about my happiness, when you actually didn't. I doubt if you ever truly did care." I whispered the last part menacingly at him, clenching my jaw as my eyes filled with tears. The way his face hardened and his eyes dilated, I assumed he heard me as a muscle in his jaw ticked. I lowered my pointing finger and wiped my tears furiously from the back of my hand, looking away. "It's good that you got to know about everything before this marriage facade got out of our hands. Now, you'll realize that you never had any feelings for me and it was just an infatuation." He scoffed, looking away. His adam's apple bobbed as his veins popped out lividly. "Don't you dare insult my love, Wali! My love for you was so pure. You know what? You don't even deserve it." I told him, swallowing the lump in my throat. My voice came out harsh as my breath grew thin and ragged. I tried to control myself, reminding there were people in this house. Ya Allah, who was this man standing in front of me? ----- Meet Wali Rehman Khan and Aleyha Shaikh. They both grew up together, they were cousins by fate but best friends by choice. Disclaimer: This is a dark romance. You will not agree with the way the main characters proceed about things or severely hate the male character. Keep in mind that the couple remains toxic for a really long time. There are elements of verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse as well as themes of abandonment. //// "Go to sleep, Rubina." He demanded softly, noticing the way her hands seemed to shiver in the cold, her eyes lost as she stared at her empty palms. "I can't. I need to go see Amma, give her the medicine, change-!" He shook his head, his voice quivering as he cupped her face. "What about you, Angel? Who's going to take care of you?" The confusion that settles over her eyes is what undoes the last of his barriers, bringing shame down on every crevice of his skin. Her voice is oddly quiet when she says, "No one." /// Rubina "Nina" Tahir knew no limits when it came to love. She loved openly, wholeheartedly. Her kindness knew no bounds but rather seeped from the cracks between her fingers. Wherever Nina went, color followed. Until Omair. Omair who was so stoic, so cold that he seemed to freeze Nina's world. Omair who didn't want any of Nina's love, scooping it up in his palms just to return it to her aching heart. Omair who she had loved more than anything, more than laughter, more than color, more than herself. Right as Nina prepares to give up on a man she had loved for ages, her world falls apart, cracking at the seams, leaving her defenseless. And all she has now is a man in repentance and a life that is too far away.
