"Listen to me, Do not expect anything from me or this marriage. I only married you because of my baba." His every word pierced through her soul.

He didn't wait for her reply, he wasn't expecting any reply from her, she never opens her mouth in front of him. Hayder stood up and was about to go to washroom to change.

"I married you because of my mother, otherwise you can never be my ideal choice" Hyra's words made him stop on his track.

Turning to her, he saw her standing beside the bed, looking at him with challenging eyes.

Her words irked him, going to her, he held her arm tightly in his hand. "Don't you dare to talk back to me otherwise I will cut your tongue." He warned her in a low, dangerous tone.

"Ouch!" A soft whimper left her mouth, she tried to free her arm from him. Her eyes brimmed with tears. He was holding her arm very tightly, it might leave bruise later.

He left her arm. "One more thing, whatever happened in this room should stay in this room. If you complain to anyone about anything, you will see the worst side of mine." Before leaving, he told her.

"You can not be anymore worst." Hyra mumbles to herself, wiping her tears.

"...Don't show that you cared about my happiness, when you actually didn't. I doubt if you ever truly did care." I whispered the last part menacingly at him, clenching my jaw as my eyes filled with tears. The way his face hardened and his eyes dilated, I assumed he heard me as a muscle in his jaw ticked. I lowered my pointing finger and wiped my tears furiously from the back of my hand, looking away. "It's good that you got to know about everything before this marriage facade got out of our hands. Now, you'll realize that you never had any feelings for me and it was just an infatuation." He scoffed, looking away. His adam's apple bobbed as his veins popped out lividly. "Don't you dare insult my love, Wali! My love for you was so pure. You know what? You don't even deserve it." I told him, swallowing the lump in my throat. My voice came out harsh as my breath grew thin and ragged. I tried to control myself, reminding there were people in this house. Ya Allah, who was this man standing in front of me? ----- Meet Wali Rehman Khan and Aleyha Shaikh. They both grew up together, they were cousins by fate but best friends by choice. Wali had always been overprotective of her and deeply cares for her, fulfilling her every demand. She thought he loves her the way she loves him but how can he love when he hates even the thought of love? She had believed he would always be there for her but how wrong she was! He left and was back after five painful years. She no longer was the same teenager he last saw or knew, she had changed and changed for good. But still, around him, she didn't know how to feel. She tried but her heart was no longer in her control and she paid a heavy cost due to that. Was the payment worth it? Was it all along Allah's plan? -------------

(Edited.) -This book moves a bit faster than my usual pace. Some events might feel slightly fast-forwarded, but I've done that to keep the essence tight, the emotions raw, and the story impactful without unnecessary dragging. . . He exhaled, running a hand through his hair. "Roop, shaadi kisi majboori mein nahi ki jati." (Marriage isn't something that should happen out of compulsion.) A bitter smile tugged at my lips. "Yahi toh farq hai tumhari aur meri zindagi mein, Anirudh. Tumhare paas choice hai, mere paas nahi." (That's the difference between your life and mine, Anirudh. You have a choice. I don't.) His expression darkened. "Main tumhari family se baat karunga-" "Nahi!" I cut him off, my voice sharp with desperation. "You won't understand. You've never seen helplessness, Anirudh. You don't know that when a girl has no options, she only looks for survival." A strange silence stretched between us, thick with unspoken pain. Anirudh sighed and leaned back against the bench, his fingers tapping against his knee. "You're telling me you'd marry any stranger just because you have no other way out?" I stiffened. "You're not a stranger." His lips quirked up, almost amused. "Until a day ago, I was." I clenched my fists. "I don't care who you are. I just need to accept this match, or the other option will destroy me." Anirudh fell silent, his gaze steady on me. The playfulness in his eyes faded, replaced by something more intense, more thoughtful. Finally, he asked, "And what if I tell you that I don't want to marry you either?"

Her breath hitched, his fingers so near her belly button as his lips hovered over her neck. "Aarav ji-" she stopped midway, the way his name escaped her lips in nothing more than a small whisper, it almost sounded like a low airy moan. "You need to be careful." He said as clasped the thin waist chain she was wearing, redness coated her cheeks in embarrassment as she mentally slapped herself for again not clasping the chain rightly. -ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈ "Anaisha!" Her eyes widened hearing the loud voice, it was surely not a good indication. Not at all. Fighting her nerves she went inside their shared room. "Ji.." she said, and if a mouse was there it would laugh at her because her voice was even lower than a damn mouse. "Ji? Ji zara batayega ki meri shirt apki mehandi se kyu bhari hui hai?" He said back sarcastically. (Yes? Yes, please tell me why my shirt is smothered with your mehandi.) "I didn't-" she tried but stopped when he turned around, the shirt having her hand prints of mehandi at the back, she bit her lip to not laugh. "One single air of laughter and I will make you cry." She stopped laughing after hearing his tone- but it was funny. And before he could catch her she ran for her damn life. -ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈ "Aap humse door rahein." Dhriti said grumbling, sitting on the bed the pillow on her lap as she looked at her nails to avoid looking at him (Stay away from me) "Aap? Really? I'm a year younger than you!" Dhruv said back, grumbling in anger. "It's called basic respect and manners, jiski apme kami hai." Dhriti said back scoffing. (Which you are lacking.) "Yeah totally. Aap mujhe aap karke hi bulaye, mai to tum kehke hi bulaunga." Dhruv scoffed back. (You can call me with 'aap' I will still call you 'tu'.) "Gadhe." She mumbled looking away. (Donkey) The next thing she knew was the male chasing her around the damn house, like some mad bull. -ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈ This book will be Hinglish.
