Y/N used to be a carefree child, someone who didn't care what others thought of her. She was a healthy, happy girl, with a ginormous smile that brightened the world.

And then she got sick.

Very, very, very sick.

"I'm only thirteen," She said, crying helplessly into her hands, "I can't go now, can I?"

The doctors couldn't identify the illness, but they had to. They had to. She was getting worse by the day.

After her mother lost her job, they were evicted from their home, having to move to Friendship, Maine.

Y/N, her mother and brother, move into Whipstaff Manor, where Y/N befriends a friendly ghost, Casper.

As Y/N's sickness worsens, Casper does everything in his power to make her comfortable, happy, and alive.

It was the least he could do, after all Y/N had done for him.

"Mom, not today. I don't even know why you're making me go. Today is dads..." I didn't want to finish and remind her of dads' birthday. My phone kept ringing, I already knew it was Dakota, he's my childhood best friend. "Just take your brother to school, please!" She exclaimed. She looked miserable. I shut the door and smelled the freshly cut grass. I smiled to myself knowing it was my dad's favorite smell. "Alexandria! We're gonna be late, can you stop daydreaming and get in the car." My brother, Cory hollered. He hates to think about dad. He just forgets. I Jeep Wrangler and I started the car, Cory rolled down his windows. "Are we sitting together at lunch today?" Cory asked me. "No I want you to sit with your friends, I'll be alright alone." I told him. "Alright Alex, believe it or not I actually love you. And I love you enough to tell you, you need friends." He admitted. "Have fun. Love you too, Corky." I laughed at the name I gave him when I was a kid. He smiled at me then left into the school. I went on to go to a flower shop. I stopped and got out. I walked in the shop. "Ally, do you have my order, the cars running?" I asked Ally. "Yeah Alex, I have it. Your order for 1 dozen Chocolate Cosmos, 2 dozen Daises, and 1 dozen yellow Roses." "Thanks Ally." I grabbed all the flowers then ran back to the car. I drove to the grave. I threw all my stuff into my bag. I grabbed the flowers and I pulled my bag over my shoulder and got out. I looked around and saw people young and old coming here to see their loved ones. I saw my families graves. Almost my whole family will be buried here. My grandpa always said it was sacred. I put the Cosmos on my dad's grave. The Daises on my grandmothers and the Roses on my grandpas. I talked and talked to them till I pull my pack of cigarettes out of my bag along with a lighter. I put the cancer stick in my mouth and lit it. "You guys are probably really mad right now. Blame peer pressure in 9th grade."

Seventeen year old Casper Reynolds and his goofy laidback best friend Eric live and breathe surfing. Living in a busy tourist town in California right on the coast makes for a pretty crowded city, especially in the summer. Casper's parents just so happen to own one of the most sought out hotels in the city. So when they end up short-handed during the busiest time of year they ask Casper to help out. Instead of getting to surf from sunrise to sunset, instead of being able to check out the 'hot babes' as Eric would say, and instead of having the summer of a lifetime he gets stuck with a summer job. It doesn't help one bit when a mysterious grudge-holding girl ends up staying at the hotel Casper's working at. After a chance encounter that goes horribly wrong the girl obviously has it out for Casper. If personalities could be graded like school work Casper would be a solid C. He's average. He's not memorable or extraordinary or even remarkable. The mystery girl however would be an F as in a failure of a human being. She's mean, cruel, and simply unbearable. So what happens when Casper finds out the girl has secret? Maybe...just maybe he'll realize there's more to her than a rude, crude exterior. With couple heated arguments, sarcastic comments, and a little blackmail anything is possible. *Warning* ~This is my first book on Wattpad so, read at your own risk. It gets better as it goes along though. Enjoy! xx~ ___________________________________________ Hey!! Thanks for clicking on my story (hopefully it wasn't accidental haha). Anyways just a few disclaimers. 1. The original picture for the cover was off WeHearit and after a little picmonkey.com magic it turned into that. So yeah. 2. This isn't really a diclaimer but, whatever: Plagerism is a crime and it's just plain rude. All epilogues, prologues, chapters, and characters belong to me. They're MINE. Understood? Okay good. 3. This story wouldn't exist without Sammmy134's amazing idea so thank you so much!!

[ highest ranking: #179 in paranormal ] Something wicked is coming to Ashdown, Vermont. Something dark, deadly, and... platinum blonde? 17 year-old Lila Cabrera is a certifiable hot mess. Last spring, on the night of Junior Prom, Lila survived a fatal car crash - one that left her then-boyfriend, Will, dead, before they could even reach the dance. Because of that night, Lila has lost her friends, her sense of protection, and, worst of all, the love of her life. Now, Lila is a senior, still grieving her lost love, and she has no idea what she wants to do with her life. But that's okay, because on the 3 month anniversary of the crash, the Grim Reaper himself shows up at her house, warning her that she is fated to die by her 18th birthday next May. The Reaper then says that his job is to help her live out her bucket list before he collects her soul on that fated day. But does The Reaper, who's sarcastic, sardonic and skeleton-like, have ulterior motives? Can Lila prevent her fate? And is Will really gone? There's only one way to find out - and it's through Death himself. [ an original fic ] © october 2017 - august 2018 by athena m.
