In order to keep Hope Mikaelson safe from their enemies her parents faked her death and gave her up for adoption.  She was adopted six months later by Kate Argent.  Kate may have been a bad person but she always did her best to keep her daughter safe.  When Hope goes to Beacon Hills and stays with her cousin she is forced to go on a triple date with her cousin's, boyfriends, best friend.  And she actually starts developing feelings for the skinny teacher, but she must learn the truth about who and what she is when people get brutally murdered by what they say is a mountain lion, but she suspects something else.
