A Beauty and the Beast Fanfiction for the Rewind the Classics 2021 challenge.

Notice: I do not own the characters or the story line which I have altered.

We all have heard of the tale as old as time, or have we? Ten years ago an Enchantress placed a curse on a castle that overlooked a small town. The curse changed the appearance of everyone inside of the castle, but what happened to the town and the people who lived there.

Well, due to potentially harming an innocent animal the Enchantress attempted to reverse her spell. In saving the animal the Enchantress accidently altered time for humans. The town's people have been unknowingly trapped in a time loop for ten years. As for the innocent animals, who live between the castle and the town, their time moves forward.

The question is, for how long? How long can a curse hold? What will happen to the animals that live in the forgotten forest?

Casually, she participates in the app's trial run but finds herself immersed in the empathic conversations with her customizable virtual boyfriend, Ecto. In a society both connected and alienated by technology, Kate suspects an actual secret admirer is behind Ecto. Could it be the work of the techie student council president Dion or has Kate really found her soulmate in bits of computer code? She decides to get to the bottom of the cutting-edge app. Her search for Ecto's real identity leads Kate to prom, where absolute knowledge comes with a very steep price.
