Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I'm influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central.

It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity.

The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It's about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I'm using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world.

Who is it for?
If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It's my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you're a fan that you'll enjoy yourself - especially if you're looking for something a bit different.

I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful.

Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.

Max and the Universe - Book I by TheSpaceRings
23 parts Complete Mature
The multiverse theory states that there is a universe for every possible scenario, a number so large it's possibly infinite. Would that mean there's a universe where my book is real. 14 year old Max Carsley finds himself hanging in the delicate balance of being a normal teenager and learning how to rule a planet. He lives in a highly advanced interstellar civilization spanning light years, sharing it with 11 different intelligent bipedal humanoid alien species, including humans, with access to flying cars, wormhole portals, and the technology to traverse the stars. How can one find balance with this chaotic lifestyle? What are royalty really like behind closed doors? And most importantly... what secrets are the members of the galactic council hiding? Find out as Max, his family, and his friends discover things that not only lead him further down his path of fate, but help him discover more about himself and the universe. This is not your typical SciFi/Fantasy Novel. It's so much more. This story is a mix of teen drama and space politics. It's kind of a mess but like, so am I. Every chapter is important, so don't skip any! Is this book mature cause I like to swear? You be the judge. IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS IS A DRAFT!! THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION OF THIS BOOK!! THE FINAL VERSION WILL HOPEFULLY BE ON STORE SHELVES CAUSE THAT'D BE SO COOL!! (Final version will include whatever tweaks are necessary to have all 4 books sync perfectly)
The Double Cult Cha-Cha: An Al Squires of the Protectorate Story (Book 1) by ddubtyn
49 parts Complete Mature
If you met ever met Al Squires, you'd never know that this eccentric, mercurial, irreverent, snarky, arrogant, occasionally accident prone, half-crazed (self proclaimed) genius son of a witch and mad scientist was a special secret agent. One that any agency would hire, at least. But, then again, The Protectorate, the Multiversal multi-faceted organization that keeps the Balance between Order and Chaos throughout the Multiverse in check, isn't the kind of organization that you're used to. Here is the first in an exciting, philosophical, thought-provoking, mind-bending, and genre-blending series. In this story: After a successful bust in an interdimensional black market warehouse, Al accidentally releases a twentysomething young woman in a stasis pod. After being forced by his boss to take responsibility for her and protect her, he later learned that she appears to be just a Blando-Rando, a regular human being who isn't In the Know. Which, he hates, because 'Blando-Rondo babysitter' isn't one of his many (self-described) skills. But, after seeing her very dormant powers awaken as they're both being chased by two different cults- one wants to sacrifice her, and the other wants to preserve her forever- Al learns that the biggest adventures can begin unexpectedly. If you knew about Multiverse Theory, then you know that anything that CAN happen, WILL happen; if not in this universe, then in another. Well, in an Al Squires of the Protectorate story, anything CAN and WILL happen.

Hi there, I'm JD, a 31-year-old Venezuelan-Spanish Economist living in Barcelona with my Russian (pro-peace) wife Anna and our two kittens; we met in Italy eight years ago, and almost since then we have been working on this project. During our careers we've worked with people from South America to Japan, from Australia to Canada, from South Africa to Norway, the characters in the novel are based on people I was lucky enough to meet along the way who left me with invaluable lessons which we feel the duty and privilege of sharing with our fellow humans, hopefully sharing what cosmologists call "Space Bias". There are seven main protagonists each one with their own chapter - which can be read in whichever order you prefer, - two of them in present tense and the rest in past, it's all part of the story. They all have mixed backgrounds such as a Japanese father and a Taiwanese mother, a survivor of the Rwanda massacre, a Colombian with Lebanese and Portuguese ancestry, a Danish whose mother is German, a Jewish lady married to a Muslim man she met in Jerusalem, an Anglo-Indian guy inspired in a way in Orwell - character name is Arthur such as Orwell's real name, - and last but definitely not least a Turkish Muslim bisexual woman for which a Lebanese friend for work is providing help; my friend is working on her Ph.D. on gender inequality in politics, especially in countries with religious civil wars that have moved from the streets to parliament. The story's Universe - 7 trillion light-years, approximately 78 times the size of our observable universe and 252 times the size of a Hubble sphere - provides more than enough civilizations to present dystopias that can serve as warnings for the future - ideally in the style of 1984, A Brave New World, or Fahrenheit 451, - as well as utopias where we find A.E.I - Artificial Emotional Intelligence - along with futuristic ways of understanding childhood, education, and life itself.

With a princess killer to catch, a host of fairy-tale characters to wrangle and a crumbling career to resurrect, fallen hotshot Agent Fields has his hands full. And that's before the case leads to a story-obsessed, dimension-hopping scientist, hellbent on world domination. **** Dumped, demoted and assigned to the mysterious Section F, Fields' number one priority is reversing his sudden career-slide. Even more so after meeting his new partner, the borderline dangerous Agent Peregrine. A specialist in the Agency's most unconventional cases, she suspects the victims in a recent spate of murders are fairy-tale princesses from other worlds. And her prime suspect is story-lover and quantum-science genius Dr Frank Featherstone. Suspecting his partner is crazy, Fields' scepticism begins to wilt when the case leads to a comatose prince, a wisecracking witch and a very much alive princess, with a mean kick to the codpiece up her sleeve. What begins as a murder investigation spirals into a jaw-dropping, dimension-spanning race against time, as the two agents and their new offsiders battle monsters, dodge dragons and receive a first-hand hardcore lesson in fairy-tale lore, while trying to bag the bad guy - and just maybe save the world. *Formerly a Paid Story/Wattpad Original (so you know it must be good, huh?) but now free!*
