"Take my hand," he shouts, dropping his gun and extending his arm towards me.
"Never in a million years," I snap, trying to steady myself as I feel my grip slowly slipping at the edge.
"Look here, Solace, I'm trying to save your life, not asking you to marry me," he tries again.
Knowing that I don't really have another option, I grab onto his arm, finding a foothold at last as he hauls me upwards.
I bump into him and his arms snake around my waist, helping me regain my balance.
"The word your brain is searching for is 'thank you'," an arrogant smirk forms on his lips.
"You wish," I remark, trying to push past him.
"Fine, just know you asked for it. I usually like repayment of my deeds," he says, before smashing his lips onto mine.

Clove Solace, a FBI surveillance investigator, is someone you don't wanna mess with.
She's smart, short-tempered and a strategist, just about everything you can't handle. But that's before she meets Zach, a person she was totally not planning to bump into. Being the Head Field Agent of the case they're working on, he may not be very friendly but there are mysteries hiding under that quirky sense of humour we fall in love with.
Sounds like your typical romance novel? Believe me, this is nothing like that.
Just a crime thriller with a touch of angsty romance, as you discover the true sides of each person and slowly fall in love with the members of the team. But that's until everything goes wrong, and maybe all stories don't have a very happy ending. This one does though, and you'll see how.
It's not a rule that agents are not supposed to engage in any romantic relationships while working on a case. However, it's not exactly something which the management department supports and as time passes, our partners in crime find it difficult to maintain their perfect reputation.
Jealous best friends, sisters in love and an unknown spy? We've a long journey to embark on before this story gets over...

"May I ask?" I supported my head with one hand, sending a captivated look to his deep dark eyes.
"Is it true you only need six questions to win a girl over?"
Corners of his lips slightly twitched before answering.
"I think that's quite underestimating me, Marianne. I can win anyone over. And as quickly as I damn please."
I chuckled. Everything would have seemed funny to me then. Even though he pretty likely wasn't so much joking. He was young, handsome, charismatic, smart and a diplomat on top of that. All together it was making him freaking good at fooling people and getting exactly what he wanted from them. And they would look forward to getting screwed by him...
"Don't laugh."
I bit my lip and shook my head, taking a new drink from the counter and gazing at him through the glass bottom.
It was dangerous. Once I wasn't paying for the booze, I drank well over the limit. And started to behave weirder than ever, it's emberrassing to just think about it. Yet he didn't quite mind, and kept providing me with new drinks, having surely a great fun.

That's just so you know, officer, I'm not completely responsible for what happened that night or later on. Although I feel deep regret for all the following events.

One says 'vampires'. The other one sneers 'for children'. Well, what if they were just... humans? With benefits. A kink, if you will. What then?

A sort-of-vampire, sort-of-mafia, sort-of-dark-romance, sort-of-crime story...
I blended all those genres I love to create something new, perhaps a little more realistic, perhaps a little more fictional. I don't know, I'm curious what you'll say to it.

Mature content and language alert, but nothing too explicit, I believe...
