Kashima Ryuuichi is a merboy who lives on the outskirts of Ebiran, an underwater city. Throughout his entire life, he dreamed about the surface. 

Ryuuichi has always been told that the terrestrial ground is a vile and cruel place.

Regardless, he engages with magic and takes a peak.

Everything seems to be going well until he gets caught up with the cunning and sly Kamitani Hayato, a well-known pirate. He doesn't seem fond of the merboy at first. 

But when they learn the wonders of each other's worlds, their relationship forms into a fascinating story of soil and sea.
