Link and Zelda's decision to settle down on the Surface had proven to be successful; while still a small kingdom, citizens of Skyloft move down to the blessed land to enjoy a peaceful life (much like the one they are accustomed to in Skyloft.) 

Unfortunately, the Hero of All finds little to no satisfaction with said peace. He longs for his "past life" that was full of adventure and excitement, but with Fi in eternal rest (alongside all evil), there is near nothing to do to bring back his joy.

Until Groose chaotically does Groose things.
