In the moment of their greatest desperation, everyone is granted a wish. Lives have been saved- and ruined- by these wishes. Some people have turned their lives around, gotten over addiction or a toxic family with their wish. Others have wrecked their lives- wasted their wish on something inconsequential rather than the problem at hand, or wished for something that brought them more pain than good.
Of course, none of that matters right now.
What matters is that Catalina is just starting college- a new life, away from her crowded house. Her family was so proud of her when she was accepted; despite their decent wealth, neither of her dads went to college. And now here she is: Haven School For The Arts, in New York City. Catalina's on track to go places and see her name in the stars- until she meets her roommate, and her life is changed forever. Then she's swept up in the most complicated and wonderful mess of her life- but has this nagging feeling that she's only being pulled backwards.
