At the end of "Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans", Jim chose NOT to go back in time, instead making the sacrifice of never seeing his friend again?

This is an alternate ending to ROTT (because I know I wasn't the only one upset when the rest of the series is phenomenal). Spoiler warning if you have not yet watched all of Tales of Arcadia!
