Summary: 1983 is a huge year for Kiss, after all it's the year they take off the make-up and for the first time the public sees the faces behind the mask or do they really? In the case of Paul Stanley, that's a huge 'no', the man that should be the most confident person in the world is in fact not. Afterall, 'Star Child' is just an act and a lifetime of neglectful parents and partners undermining him and hurting him, all is an illusion and Paul is threatening to drown under his insecurities.
Nikki Sixx is unknowingly in the same boat as Paul. Afterall, Nikki only knows 'the mask' of Paul Stanley, but Nikki is even worse shape mentally. Sure, he's in one of the biggest and rudest and LOUDEST bands of the 80s, he is finally able to have it all, but only has the material aspects, not love...which is a totally mystery as much as someone who truly understands. 
1983, sees Paul and Nikki coming together thru fate, circumstance, and managerial intervention, for Motley Crϋe will open for Kiss on their tour and so Paul and Nikki will meet, can they save each other from the insecurities and the fears that may very well pull them under? Can they even find love? Will it be 'forever'? Read to find out and see what happens, love that may be found, healing and lives that will be forever changed.

(DISCLAIMER: I wrote this when I had just became a fan of the Crüe and this was my first Nikki fanfic, so it is not very good. I wrote a remastered version of this book that's completely different than this version!) Nikki meets a girl who instantly catches his eye at The Whiskey. Trying to talk to her, he thinks she's playing hard to get, upon further talking, he realized she's afraid. Afraid of what? Carly meets the bassist of a band called Mötley Crüe, Nikki Sixx. Knowing of his bad boy rep, she tries to stray away from him. Hearing about the way he treats women makes her afraid. What's she afraid of? Everything. (I in no way mean any disrespect to Mötley Crüe/Nikki Sixx at all. Some events that take place in this story are from "The Dirt" and "The Heroin Diaries", I take no credit for what I put in this story that relates to those books. This story is purely for fun, I admire Mötley Crüe very much.)

Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx were damn near basket cases and almost unapproachable to anybody who came near them. Mick drank vodka like Nikki did heroin. They were their vices. Their poisons. Tommy and Vince knew exactly who Nikki and Mick were, and how everyone told them they were loose cannons and that they're not safe to be around. Turns out... that's not entirely true. Nikki's a bit socially awkward and a bit unpredictable at times, but he's not crazy, just not trusting. And Mick is just stand-offish, and highly protective of Nikki; though, he is in fact rude, but he doesn't know how to let people in. It was Vince that opened the can of worms first. The more he was just in the presence of Mick, the more quirks and things he took mental notes of, including the fact that Mick was the one with the lock on his bedroom door. One day, he caught Mick alone at home. He took it upon himself to get dinner and coax Mick out of his dark bedroom. Nikki and Mick had dark shadows looming over them constantly. Always a state of disarray. But Vince and Tommy managed to poke through those dark clouds and show Nikki and Mick what love was really like, and that they were deserving of everything.
