Purple coat, white hair and soulless red eyes: the signature look of the infamous "Phantom Reaper" who is feared and hated as one of SAO's deadliest players. 

Nyx is one of the 10 000 players that found themselves trapped in the fascinating but deadly world of Sword Art Online. He battled to survive day after day, but as he settled into that VR world he found himself in a situation that would paint him red for years to come.

With a reputation that haunts him and a past he can't escape, needing to constantly look over his shoulder to survive became a part of everyday life for him. Few would learn the truth about the person behind the rumors, but those that did taught him there was more to life for him to than plain survival.

He'll have to learn to live with the weight of the choices he's made, while trying to adjust to life outside of that infamous virtual world.

This is an insert into the world of Sword Art Online, with a new OC protagonist that follows events of Sword Art Online. The main essence of SAO will remain the same, but with new events and a different take on certain character dynamics. This is SAO from a different perspective and a new character to stand along side the Hero of Aincrad.

This is a fan work based on the anime and light novel series "Sword Art Online" which is owned by Reki Kawahara, abec, and,  A-1 Pictures. In that castle floating high in the sky, ten thousand people got locked inside. Their only way forward was to beat the final boss, or die trying. Two whole years were spent there, stuck in that castle. Each and every one of those who survived have their own story to tell. This is one such story, about a battle-fanatic who earned the moniker of 'the Blood Red Oni'. We might stick close to the original story, or we might veer greatly off-course. Only the Gods will know, for I surely don't. Title is also still very much a Work in Progress, this was just the first thing I could think of. Honestly this has just been a thing that's been brewing deep in my mind for months now, so instead of just daydreaming about random scenes and story bits I decided to actually 'put it to paper' in some form.
