In Techno's retirement you'd visit him often or stay nights. It was fun, very fun. Till then 4 men that called themselves 'The Butcher Army' came along. Phil had told us, well Techno about it and Techno insists you stay behind.

Techno was then betrayed by Tommy and teamed up with Dream to destroy L'manberg. Techno had an ally which he trusted the most, the only person that knew him for such a long time and have never betrayed him, you. 
Techno had called upon you for your assistance in war, with glee the deal was sealed. Y/N lived not far from Techno's residence though it is hidden.
