So easily they left me
my lustre, my bangles, thought, sleep
I am destroyed.
Compassionate clouds
I sing of Govinda's virtues
lord of Venkatam,
where cool waterfalls leap.
How long can this alone guard my life?
A fatigued sigh left the blushing pink lips of Thirumagal. She gazed tearfully towards the sky. Oh, how she hungers to see a glimpse of his transcendental visage! She never belonged here. He was her only sanctuary. She was solely only his! Her heart bleeds at every moment spent away from her lord. Her eyes were longing to see his glorious lotus feet. She yearns to become the flute that eternally rests upon his divine lips, singing the tune of pure love for aeons to come.
Pearl-like tears dripped down her lotus eyes.
"Swami", her lips quivered. "How shall I find serenity without you? I yearn for you day and night. My soul voices only your name. Please fulfil this selfish request of mine and do come and settle within my eyes."
A soothing breeze blew drying her pearly tears away. Kothai chuckled. It is as if her lord was placating her. " Chaliya Mohan", she playfully pouted and rebuked him.
"Andal", the breeze lovingly whispered. "My beloved, wait for me. I shall come for you soon."
Kothai perplexed turned her gaze towards the dark clouds. "Swami?"

Advika, 25, recently retired from her perilous career as a spy for the Indian government. She's faced trauma that most couldn't bear in a lifetime. Now, all she craves is the one thing her life lacked-normalcy. A quiet, boring life free from the shadows of her past. But she'd never admit it, even to herself. To desire simplicity feels like weakness. Yet, deep down, that's all she wants-something real, something safe. Karna, born a suta but kshatriya by heart, is a man who defied everything society forced upon him. Humiliated, cursed, and denied his rightful place, all he ever longed for was to learn weaponry-archery, his true calling. Though denied by every royal and guru, he carved his own path, mastering the art despite them all. Now, he seeks the respect and glory he's been denied, determined to claim his place in Hastinapur, the very kingdom that rejected him. He's no longer just a man-he's an enigma, a force of sheer will. But what happens when Karna, through mysterious forces, arrives in Advika's house? In a clash of instinct and fear, she attacks first, questions later. Their worlds, separated by centuries and desires, suddenly collide. One seeking peace, the other seeking glory. Both wanting the impossible. Advika wanted a simple life after the storms of her past. But maybe it was too much to ask. Karna wanted respect and honor in the land that spurned him. But maybe that, too, was too much to ask. Though their lives are worlds apart, something powerful connects them, pulling them into a moment neither can explain. Two souls, bound by destiny, stand before each other in an era foreign to them both. And as they each seek what they desire most, one truth becomes clear-when the universe conspires to grant your deepest wishes, there's always a price. The question is: at what cost?

"Stop following me! Just let me go and leave me in peace!" she pleaded, struggling against his unrelenting grip. "I won't. Not today, not ever. Not after finding you again," he said firmly. "I don't belong here. This isn't my place. Let me go," she begged, desperation in her voice. He shook his head. "You've always belonged. Since the beginning of time, we were meant to be together." "You'll never convince me," she snapped. "I won't be part of this farce or let you treat me like an object without a will of my own." "It's not a farce. It's as real as the sun, and you will be part of it-whether you want to or not. Your only desire should be our companionship," he declared. "Please," she whispered, one last plea as her hand inched toward her waistband. "The only thing left to do... do it for her, if not for love. " he ordered. "For love?" she murmured, shaken. Then her expression hardened. "But love was never an option," she spat, her voice dripping with disgust-before she struck with full force. It wasn't supposed to end like this. Anwesha-once a soldier by choice, not birth-had embraced duty for her nation. But one failed mission led her to the dark waters of the Ganges. Caught in a whirlpool, she accepted death like an old friend. Yet, she didn't die. She woke up in another timeline, but here, she didn't belong. A misfit, a lone coal in a chest of gold. She wasn't chosen by fate, nor favored by the gods-just an accident struggling to return home. But every path back was closed. Trapped, she resolved to be a silent observer. Yet fate had other plans. She crossed paths with the Scions of Kuru, a dynasty shaping history itself. She hadn't intended to get involved, but now she was entangled in their world, for better or worse. Can she survive in this era, or will she find her way back? More importantly-who is she, really? And why her? After all, nothing in this world, or beyond it, is mere coincidence. • Book I ~ Stuck In Time Series •

The greenish-blue orbs stared at the group gathering below as she hide behind the curtain watching the crowd. Maharishi, gurus, yogis from all over were sitting infront if the large fire chanting the sacred mantras. Her kohl drawn eyes widened as she let out a gasp, stumbling behind. Her face turned into a rosy flush as a strong hand gripped her shoulders, preventing her from falling down. " Brother...I," She began, blushing brightly as the man placed his finger on her pale lips before walking past her. She pouted and elbowed his ribs, peering from behind him. " I want to see! What's so special ?" She huffed, crossing her hands over her chest as she pouted. " Curiosity Killed the Cat...Come along...if Maharaj found us sneaking around...he would be extremely displeased," The handsome man said as he gripped her hand firmly and dragged her away. She turned her face and sighed seeing Maharaj Draupad face beaming with pride and happiness as he loudly proclaimed that Lord Shiva has blessed him and the entire Panchal nation. " Will he ever look at me like that?," she asked in a forlorn tone causing the elder man to sigh and wrap his arms around her. " I hope not! You my little one deserves more than his desire for revenge," Satyajit said as he pat her shoulder. ****************************************** Aaratrika's life changed the moment her parents conducted the yagna. She became the forgotten princess of Panchal in the awakening of Panchali. Torn apart between her feelings with Hastinapur's crown prince's, she must decide if Duryodhan is worth her father's wrath or is her feelings for Yusdhistir worth her sister's marriage. NOTE : It's a sequel to "Lost" and cannot be read as a standalone. ● ♡ ● "Are there any stars?" She inquires and he doesn't understand what she meant. There were no stars. "Can you see the moon up there?" She continues. There was no moon. "It's dark." Ayansh replies when he sees her waiting for his response. Inaaya turns her gaze to him, a peculiar look swimming in her eyes. "Exactly." Ayansh looks back at her, more confusion getting painted over his face. "It's dark. No stars, no moon, nothing." Inaaya adds solemnly. "That's how we're and that's how things between us stand. I trusted you and you broke it and that's the end. There's no hope or light here. All there ever will be around is despair." Ayansh listens to her and after a moment, carefully, takes a step ahead and a slight relief washes over him when she doesn't flinch. "Look up again." He whispers and after a little reluctance, she follows. "Surely it's dark," he says as she watches the sky ardently. "But it doesn't promise to be dark forever," he murmurs lowly and her heart thuds against her ribcage at the determination his voice held. "It's dark today but tomorrow? Maybe tomorrow, there will be stars and the moon too. Maybe tomorrow, you can see the light and the hope too. Maybe tomorrow, the despair would fade away." 🥀 That's the thing about soulmates; they always find a way to each other. ALWAYS. Ayansh Mehra and Inaaya Rai were a little naive, a little foolish in love but oh, they were so in love and it would be a shame if they couldn't find their way back to each other, to the arms they belong, to their HOME.

#1 in short-story out of 325K stories!! on 28 September 2023 Give it a try!! ---‐-------- "So I was not worthy of you?" It was more of a statement for Anvi. Her voice was broken. Rudra prayed her finger from the necklace and held her hand. "Sweet.....It was never about what I thought. It was always about what you thought." Rudra pulled up her chin gently to look into her eyes. "If you thought you were good enough for me, you would have never proposed the deal. You would have never put your health at risk to achieve it. And yet I had always seen you as a kind little girl who took care of me like a mother. Who would make samosas for me when I came home. Who would wait outside my room for hours together. Who would make sure that my socks were restocked every summer. And many other things.....Baby it never occurred to me to measure your worth. I was not in love with you back then, but you were a part of my life, sweet." He finished with a sweet tender kiss. "You..you..knew?" A very red Anvi asked in astonishment. "What? That I was your first crush?" He smirked, turning her redder by the second. "Now let me kiss you before you put on that lipstick." He pulled her into a soul-satisfying kiss. ______________ It is a beautiful journey of Anvi and Rudra. A short heart warming love story.
