Weird things are going on at Camp Half Blood. Campers are getting sick by their cabin, hints about The Last Stand keep popping up and warnings to beware The Lonely Hero. Nico and Will are given a quest to get to the bottom of things, but after Gaea, the giants, and the Titans, is it even realistic to hope for success? There can only be so many victories before a heartbreaking defeat.

After the Giant War, Nico di Angelo struggles to find his place at Camp Half-Blood. Will Solace, the ever-cheerful son of Apollo, makes it his mission to help Nico heal, both physically and emotionally. As they navigate through, an unexpected bond forms between them, one that neither the darkness nor light can break .

With Nico di Angelo as Will Solace's prisoner for three days in the infirmary, Nico has to quickly adjust to all the attention he gets from Will, along with the rest of the camp. Nico has to deal with other people's problems, especially when he doesn't want to. He has to quickly learn how to build relationships with other campers from the ground up, and even though Nico is banned from using his 'Underworldy' powers, he's still a demigod, and danger and adventure are always at his heels, even at camp! He's determined to help anyone he can who needs it. This includes the dense (yet admittedly cute) son of Hades, who might even be more stubborn than Will. After a nail-biting battle against the Earth Mother herself, these boys find themselves in the infirmary together for a promised three days. While they're certainly different at first glance, soon enough, they find themselves more similar than believable. As their relationship blossoms into something more, Nico gets a premonition of something coming, worthy of breaking the two apart. Will they be able to fight their apparent fate?
