This was the first time she heard her mother cry. It was not a nice feeling, seeing one of your biggest pillars of strength crack. It made your eyes burn with unshed tears and it twisted your stomach into knots. And it was because of this, she did not notice the crack in her fathers' voice as he comforted her mother, nor protest against the arms of her grandmother as she carried her to her room. How long had she stood silently and watched her watch her parents?'

I wanted to explore the concepts of mourning the living, mourning a stolen childhood and how genocide and war cause a ripple effect of pain that lasts for generations. 

I also wanted to see how these concepts drive the decisions in not just the protagonists of the story but also the antagonists.

These are honestly gonna be focused on Lance. Earth is saved from the Galra, and the Paladins of Voltron are the heroes of the Galaxy Garrison, well all except for Keith. He'd been kicked out before the war, and they didn't want him back. He's alone again. Lance, Pidge, and Hunk are employed by the Garrison, Shiro leads missions off world, Allura and Coran are establishing a new world for the Alteans who'd survived, and the Blade don't need him. Keith works in a coffee shop and gets by the best he can, on the little money he earns. This story is loosely based on the paladins of Voltron. I have not watched all the seasons and have changed the backstory of some characters. I do not own any of the characters in this story, and I do not own any of the artwork. There is smut, swearing, talk of rape, and self-harm in the story. I will not be putting disclaimers at the beginning of the chapters, so if you don't want to read it, move on to another story. Warning: Violence, mention of rape, mention of self-harm, boyxboy, sex.
