Kazuuchū Shūtoki is a famous adventurer who makes vlogs on YouTube, having just a little over 500K subscribers. Now known by his alias as Slate Exodus, he cast his old name aside to forget a memory that traumatizes him.

As a boy has traversed mountains, cliffs, oceans, jungles, deserts, and glaciers with others, there's almost nothing that could drive this young man into a corner, until he glitches through the ground of a cave and falls into the dreaded urban legend known as the Backrooms.

Trying to remember the best he could, the ultimate survivor traverses through the ominous realm surrounded by yellow wallpaper, and the many levels that lie above the dangerous starting point, only with a single goal in mind: to find the true exit to the Backrooms, and to liberate humanity from the hellhole that they have been thrown into. And he will not rest until he reaches this goal.

With newfound powers and comrades as he advances into the Backrooms, he begins to discover more and more secrets, buried only for those brave enough to look.
