Taylor Dixon is the niece of Charlie Swan through her mother Jennifer who is his younger sister.

Taylor was originally born in her mother and uncle's small hometown of Forks, Washington but left along with her mother when she was just eight years old after her parents' marriage had become extremely frayed and the two of them had decided to legally separate for a while.

Taylor and her mother ended up settling down in Berkeley, California and lived there for the next seven and a half years. Despite being in separate places though, her mother and father never officially got a divorce.

Now at fifteen, Taylor and her mother are finally returning to Forks.

Isabella, Charlie's daughter with his ex-wife Renée and Taylor's cousin, has also decided to return to Forks after her mother gets remarried.
