Faye Harper lost herself. That's what people said. For being the cheer captain, class favourite and prom queen she really disappeared after graduation. So much potential, wasted. That's what they all said.

Truthfully, Faye's life had been a lie. She'd worked her way to the top, a game of survival. It wasn't who she wanted to be, it wasn't who she believed she was.

Her life was anything but perfect. After her father left her older brother Robert thought it his duty to run the house. His anger and spite left Faye hiding in her room, patterned in bruises.

Faye's uncle was her only hope, the way out of the house that had become hell for her. She thought the job would be a temporary solution. Sat behind a bar serving drunks and shunting away those thinking their faces don't scream of youth.

Yet it wasn't the time away from her family or the distraction from the chaos that made her new occupation all the more interesting.

In fact her shining optimism came in the form of the pubs live music. A band, a rock band. With a guitarist who seemed determined to solve the mystery of what happened to the notorious Faye Harper.
