She thinks it's only while using her big box of 64 crayons. She doesn't realize the power is in her mind's eye and not her writing implements. Jo (20) can teleport. Of course she doesn't always stick her landings. At first her landings are as messy as is her life. She's lost her mother, her family home, her faith and now thinks she may be losing her mind. Supercilious self-absorbed Amy (17) has the uncanny ability to get others to do what she wants. She says, ever so sweetly, "I'd prefer..." Dad always called it "wrapping others around her little finger syndrome." If she wanted she could ask a perfect stranger to hand over his car keys and he'd have to oblige. The oldest sister Meg (21) has dreams and visions about the world's near future. She's also very intuitive. Perhaps if she were better at seeing her own future maybe her personal life wouldn't be in shambles?

More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

We do not know what is to come of something, so in retaliation we immediately fight it off before we can ever find out; before we can ever see if there is any beauty in it. My mom is gone now. Along with any sanity we as a people have left. The year is 2193, and the world is at war. We, humans, are at war with each other only because of what we are and what we can do. We fear what we do not know, thus all we know is ignorance. The government, our democracy, our people and our world have fallen. Nothing good ever comes from being afraid of the abnormalities of others, especially when those abnormalities are amazing. The truth is, none of us are normal. Everyone's definition of normality is different, making it humanly impossible for anyone to ever accomplish the craved label of "normal".
